Product Making Process
Charmyβs accessories are made of Raffia material that is sustainably harvested to ensure
that the plants can generate and produce more. Handcrafted in Madagascar, each
pieces are unique and timeless.
The Raffia palm trees are native to tropical regions of Africa. Once harvested, the leafs
are torn by hand in parallel lines to be brushed, then followed by a cleaning and purification process in order to remove all impurities.
The leaves undergoes though a drying process of 24hours under the sunlight, where the
natural beige colour will be seen.
Once treated, the fibre becomes soft, flexible and easy to manipulate. The handcrafting
work starts here.
Most of our design use natural coloured fibre. However in order to make coloured ones
the process takes longer where each and every colour are naturally made.
